Frequently Asked Questions
What are collections in CS2?
Collections are themed groups of weapon skins in CS2. Unlike case skins, collection skins can drop at the end of competitive and casual matches if the collection is in the active drop pool. Collection skins cannot have StatTrak counters but some can be Souvenir quality from Major tournaments.
How do collection skin drops work?
Active collection skins drop randomly at the end of matches. The drop follows the same rarity distribution -- Consumer Grade and Industrial Grade skins are most common, while Covert skins are extremely rare. Collection drops are free, making them a way to obtain skins without spending money.
Are collection skins valuable?
High-rarity collection skins (Classified and Covert) can be very valuable since they are difficult to obtain through random drops. Some Covert collection skins are among the most expensive in the game. The lower rarity skins from collections tend to be inexpensive.
